## Research activities and methodology

PHSSR works with academics in more than 20 countries (see researcher list below) to study health systems within these jurisdictions.


## Framework

Research conducted on behalf of PHSSR is grounded in robust methodology, using a framework developed by the London School of Economics (LSE) and shaped by practitioners and policymakers working in these countries. The LSE framework consists of seven core domains:

## In each country, reports are developed and validated with input from a cross-sectoral group of expert stakeholders.

This established LSE framework provides a basis for further qualitative research into health systems’ sustainability and resilience. In the future, the PHSSR has an ambition to develop more methodologically sophisticated approaches over time, including quantitative metrics, aggregated into an index, which will enable the measurement and comparison of aspects of sustainability and resilience across settings. The LSE will make the framework and index available to all relevant parties that want to use it to either periodically conduct jurisdictional assessments and/or want to use it as a base to strengthen and improve their health systems to adapt and transform their resiliency and sustainability.
