PHSSR is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Marsh, which joins the initiative as a full member partner.
As the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, Marsh brings insights and strategies to analyse how risk can be better managed, through cooperation across sectors and providing resources for new research.
“Expanding coverage and making care more affordable are essential to building resilient health systems and improving health outcomes at scale,” said Lorna Friedman, Global Health Transformation at Marsh. “We are proud to join PHSSR and work alongside partners to deliver collaborative, measurable progress in global health.”
Non-communicable diseases continue to place significant burden on patients, societies and healthcare systems. This partnership reinforces the importance of sustainable health system financing and strategic investment in medical technologies to transform care delivery and save lives.
While many countries allocate a significant amount to healthcare every year, PHSSR’s research outlines that funds could be better directed. For example, investment in prevention strategies, such as screening programmes, can help to identify at-risk patients earlier, meaning treatment and care plans can be initiated before conditions progress. Not only could this lead to more efficient and resilient health systems, but it could save millions of people from preventable long-term illness or death.
Marsh brings a wealth of history and experience in effective, considerate and sustainable investment strategies and PHSSR welcomes this partnership to bolster existing and future healthcare solutions so that societies and economies can thrive.
Alistair McGuire, Professor of Health Economics at the London School of Economics (LSE), and Chair of the PHSSR Steering Committee, said: “We are delighted to have Marsh on board, and excited about the unique capabilities and expertise it brings to PHSSR. Partnerships such as this are critical to providing effective, speedy solutions to the complex challenges global health systems face today.”
PHSSR’s existing global level partners include the London School of Economics (LSE), the WHO Foundation, the World Economic Forum (WEF), AstraZeneca, Philips, IQVIA, and the Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation (CAPRI). The partnership also includes additional organisations at the regional and national levels. In 2025, Roche Diagnostics joined as a project partner, supporting PHSSR teams in Indonesia, and the EU.
